Costa do Sol is a yearly one-day celebration of Mozambican and Portuguese food, music and drinks, landing on the KZN North Coast over Heritage Day weekend. Expect sizzling peri-peri, grilled prawns, ice-cold drinks and a soundtrack of marrabenta, kizomba, fado-inspired grooves and Afro-Lusophone beats from midday to sundown.
Our first edition takes place on Saturday 25 September 2027 at The Lawns in Ballito, with a capacity of just 2,000 guests, so this one will sell out.

The flavours of Maputo and Lisbon, served on the Dolphin Coast.
Flame-grilled chicken basted in fiery, citrusy peri-peri the way it's done in Mozambique.
LM-style grilled prawns with garlic butter, lemon and plenty of sauce.
Tender beef cubes in a rich wine, garlic and chilli sauce, with bread to mop it up.
Flaky, caramelised Portuguese custard tarts, warm and dusted with cinnamon.

The Lawns

About 45 minutes north of Durban and around 15 minutes from King Shaka International Airport.
On-site parking is limited, so we recommend carpooling or e-hailing. Details on park-and-ride shuttles from Ballito will be shared with ticket holders closer to the date. Please don't drink and drive.

Gates open at 11:00 and the festival closes at 21:00 on Saturday 25 September 2027.
No. Once you leave the venue you won't be allowed back in.
Yes. The festival is fully cashless, and cards and tap-to-pay are accepted at all bars and food stalls.
No outside food, drinks or alcohol may be brought in. Everything you need is on site.
Your ID, your ticket, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes for the lawn.
The festival goes ahead rain or shine. Any changes will be communicated to ticket holders.
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferable according to Howler's terms.
